toolbarmode

Filed under: Mozilla — admin @ 9:49 am

Apologies to everyone waiting for a toolbarmode update for TB2. It’s in the making, but due to additional requirements I decided to rewrite my whole build process.

So far I’ve used a custom Ant script that did a lot of search/replace in my files plus some very basic conditional code using very complicated regular expressions… But now this doesn’t seem to be enough any more. So what to do?

I really would like to stick with Ant as it is Java and I like and know it quite well. It’s been many years since my last proper shell script! (I should work an that, I guess)

So, it looks like I’ll be using Ant in combinations with vpp, a Ant task wrapper around Velocity. While this is perhaps not the ideal solution, I couldn’t find one so far and I had to make a decision.

So, once I am finished customizing vpp, things will be back to normal. There are only two things left and the build process itself is ready.

Additional stuff to go into the next version will be another locale, support for TB2 and support for Flock and Sunbird!
